To have Valentine’s  and the Chinese New Year fall on the same day calls for a double celebration! We hope you took note of all the special moments that happened around you and that you find your SA kit as an accessory to that inspiration.

In case you missed it, check out our dear DT, Nita’s projects for the last quarter of 2009 HERE and her latest installment for the January 2010 Kit HERE. If you haven’t had a chance to get your hands on SA’s first kit of the year, you can still check them out below . . .

January 2010: Flight through Wonderland

SA finally has its first GDT for 2010, personally I have long admired her work, you can always bet on tactile goodness when paper touches her hands.

Nina and her beautiful family

Nina Ballesteros-Pateña is 31, a stay-at-home mom, homeschooler and writer-turned-artist. She finds it hard to believe that she’s been scrapping since 2006, ever since she walked into the Simplejoys store in SM Southmall and fell in love with recycled paper albums, faux leaves and beads. Her loves are scrapbooking, stamping and altered art. Among her sources of inspiration are the window display of local store Gingersnaps, music videos and surfing online. The 3 tools she can’t live without are pens, stamps and her solid wooden 8.5″ x 11″ guillotine trimmer.

On the February 2010 Kit, she says, “I wanted to show how versatile the kit was. So I wanted to do three styles of layouts: classic, cute, and artsy. I made a mini since we recently went on my husband AR’s company outing to Baguio. Plus there’s a lot of beautiful colors in the kit which I think pretty much captures how fun the trip was. I also didn’t know what to do with the scallop cardstock I used as a mask in one of my layouts so I decided it’d make a fun accordion just in time for Valentine’s Day.”

On being SA’s Feb 2010 GDT: “Tin, I really think you’re doing an amazing job with Studio Azul. I wish you all the best as you continue to bring us the kind of innovative and fresh goodness you always come up with in every month’s kit. It has truly be an honor. Thank you.”

We’re all mad here . . .

Posted on January 17th, 2010

Disney-classic-disney-6553953-863-1251“We’re all mad here”, says the Cat . . . maybe that’s why i haven’t uploaded the kit on the 15th like I said lol sorry about that, my bad.

As a child i have always been fascinated with Alice in Wonderland and the wonderful characters she met during her adventures. And now as an adult, the magic of this classic story has not lost its flavor; so i dedicate this to the child in all of us and how the truisms of Alice and he friends carries on its philiosphies in the world of grown-ups.

And if you’re still in the holiday mood, check out SA’s December 2009 Kit:

Have a grand, grand week ahead!

REMEMBER THE DAYS . . .

Posted on October 20th, 2009

I hope the October kit brings back memories of youth or perhaps memories of your children. Now is a good time as any, to create and most of all, SHOW the people we care for what we created for them. Most often our precious pages are tucked away in our albums, i’m sure hubby, mom, dad, especially the kids would love to know what you wrote about them. Enjoy Octobers Kit, truly a WORKSHEET of LOVE :-)

Finding the right timing . . .

Posted on October 16th, 2009

To our SA customers,

After the recent calamites our country has encountered, I didn’t find it proper to send you billing statements and to promote the kits during this time. I apologize for the delays I was just finding the right time for things to get back to “normal.” Then again, I guess things won’t get back to the way it was, we are more aware of our surroundings now and more appreciative of our loved ones.

In this light, Studio Azul is coming up with a limited edition kit where ALL PROCEEDS will go to the Red Cross so in our own little way we can help those who have been victims of the recent storms. Please do watch out for our post this Monday, October 19, 2009.

Also, as with our limited edition kits I will also be posting our October Kit 2009. Shipments were delayed but they have finally arrived. For ALL SCRAP BUFFET PARTICIPANTS, the event stamp is HERE! Yes, after a thousand years lol I’ll be emailing all past participants to confirm your home address as well as resume the monthly emails for our SA members.

Again, I sincerely apologize for the delays and any inconvenience this may have caused. Do take care everyone and keep safe.

sincerely,

Tin

Studio Azul is proud to be PINOY . . .

Posted on September 30th, 2009

FilRibbon1Last Saturday, September 26, 2009 the Philippines could not have prepared for a simple downpour turned torrential rain flood.

No one was spared from storm Ondoy’s wrath (international code name Ketsana), even in our humble home water reached knee deep; other houses in our area have water levels reaching their second floor homes. Yet, we still count our blessings, others have not just lost their homes but lives of loved ones as well.

Filipinos have always upheld what we call the Bayanihan spirit, or rather a communal unity and effort.  Since Saturday, an outpour of help came from all sectors of the country and relief operations came in many forms, private citizens distributing goods, students helping out organize relief goods and commercial establishments and businesses offering their services for free to help our countrymen.

Please don’t tire of helping our brothers and sisters; let’s do what we can for those in need, because in our own time of trouble. I’m sure we would like the same helping hand extended to us.
